What language does God speak?

I speak English. If you can read this, you probably do, too. Maybe you also speak another language (or more!).

Every wonder what language God speaks? (Hint: it's NOT the obvious answer!)

We all know He speaks every language there is and ever was in this world. But that's the obvious answer, not the right one. Nope, when He wanted to communicate with us in a way that would really reach us, He chose a unique language no one had ever seen or heard before. And there's never been a language like it since.

Have you figured it out?? Is the suspense killing you???

Well, here it is: This unique, one-of-a-kind language is called (drum roll, please...)

Jesus.

Huh?!?

Yep, it's true...that's what it's called. Don't believe me? Well, check it out right from the Bible itself:

Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. But now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. (Hebrews 1:1-2)

Y'see, instead of trying to communicate with us in just words, God decided to send his only Son, Jesus, to earth so he could show us what God is like.

Pretty cool idea, eh? So now, if you want to learn to recognize God's voice all you have to do is start looking at the things Jesus said and did. Because one of his purposes for being here was to show us what God is really like.

The more you learn about Jesus, the more you'll become familiar with God's voice. So if you tried my suggestion from last week, keep reading. And stick with the first 4 books of the New Testament section (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John)....that's where all the good stuff about Jesus is found.

It really is just that simple!
