Your Secrets are Safe with Him
One of the funniest "most-embarrassing-moment" stories I've ever heard was about a lady who went shopping, and as she checked out at the register, the clerk couldn't find the price tag on one of her items. So the clerk picks up the intercom mic and announces to the whole store,"PRICE CHECK ON LANE THIRTEEN, TAMPAX, SUPER SIZE!"
Now, that's bad enough, but stock guy apparently misunderstood her and thought she said, "THUMBTACKS." So he gets back on the intercom, his voice booming throughout the store, "DO YOU WANT THE KIND YOU PUSH IN WITH YOUR THUMB OR THE KIND YOU POUND IN WITH A HAMMER?"
Somehow, I don't think she'll ever go shopping there again.
I'm sure we've all had our share of embarrassing moments....it's just part of life. But as we continue to learn how to recognize God's voice, I can tell you one thing for sure: He'll never say or do anything to embarrass you!
We've been looking God's description of Jesus, found in Isaiah 42, and here's what He says in verse 2:
"He will be gentle--he will not shout or raise his voice in public. "
When God speaks to you, He won't make you feel stupid. He won't laugh at you. He's not going to let the world know about your mistakes or failures.
He wants to speak with you personally, in a gentle way. He takes his time, and doesn't mind a bit if you have questions or don't understand everything He says. Because He wants to have a real relationship with you, don't be afraid to dialog with him about things you might not tell anyone else. Your secrets are safe with Him!
