Change the channel...

If you're interested in hearing from God more clearly, here's a tip: Pay attention to what you're listening to.

We're bombarded all day, every day with all kinds of things to listen to...music, news, TV shows, movies, conversations, etc. With all this stuff going on, we can hardly hear our own thoughts much less whatever God's trying to say!

Then, when we do find a few quiet moments, all that stuff gets re-played in our heads so that anything God might be trying to say just gets lost in all the noise.

My advice--use your power of choice and change the channel!

The Bible says, "Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious--the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse." (Phil. 4:8)

Change the channel...choose what you're going to allow into your mind and life. If you do, you'll find it much easier to hear whatever God is saying to you.
